Finance Minister AMA Muhith said the present government would extend all out support for the development of country’s football.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-16 Football at Sylhet Divisional Stadium, in Sylhet.
He said, “Although cricket has gained popularity in the country but football is still very much popular in rural areas. The tournament which begun with under 16 booters will be attractive and enjoyable.”
The SAFF U-16 Championship begun today with India and Sri Lanka opening match.
Earlier, one minute silence was observed in memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family.
