Primary and Mass-education Minister Mustafizur Rahman, MP, on Friday said the present government is pledged to ensure qualitative and quantitative primary education for the sake of freeing of the nation from the curse of illiteracy.
He said “The government has been working relentlessly for enlightening hundred percent children through primary schools both in rural and urban areas”.
The minister was addressing the inaugural ceremony of 150th founding anniversary celebration of Arani Monmohani Government Primary School under Bagha Upazila in the district as chief guest.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, Abdul Wadud Dara, MP, Abul Kalam Azad, MP, and Director General of Directorate of Primary Education Dr Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal also spoke.
Minister Mustafizur Rahman listed his government’s development successes including development of school infrastructure, ensuring supply of safe drinking water, introduction of uniform education and stipends for disadvantaged children.
He said distribution of textbooks to primary school students and introduction of e-book were appreciated by all quarters both in home and abroad.
