Govt to construct more 500 community clinics, JS told

The government has a plan to construct more 500 community clinics across the country.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said this in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Wednesday while replying to a question from ruling party lawmaker Quazi Keramat Ali (Rajbari-1).
The minister said, of the clinics, 300 will be built with financial assistance from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The rest 200 community clinics will be built in phases under the sector programme, he added.
Nasim said a total of 13,135 community clinics are now running across the country to provide continuous medicare services to the people.
The minister said the work on construction of 226 community clinics is now nearing completion.
