Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Monday said the government has undertaken a plan to construct godowns having capacity of 10,000 tonnes food grains for Chittagong, Rangpur and Molvibazar regional offices of the Bangladesh Trading Corporation (TCB).
“We have already prepared draft DPP for the plan,” he told this, while replying to a question from treasury bench member Bazlul Haque Harun of Jhalokathi-1 in the Jatiya Sangsad.
The minister said the TCB has own godowns for food grains including at Tejgaon having capacity of 4,872 tonnes, at Nedapa in Narayanganj of 2,208 tonnes and in Chittagong of 8,000 tonnes.
