Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said, government will work on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in collaboration with Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) to develop the IT sector.
“Different software and ITES companies will be formed including gaming companies. This would facilitate the achievement of USD 1 billion export and 1% contribution to GDP by the industry by 2018,” Kamal said.
“We need to utilize our young population to progress. Through public private initiatives, we need to work on capacity building of IT industry in accordance with the PPP model,” the minister added, asking BASIS to undertake relevant projects with this aspect.
The minister said this as a BASIS delegation led by its president Shameem Ahsan called on him on Wednesday.
