The government will formally celebrate UNESCO’s recognition of Bengali new year procession ‘Mangol Shovajatra’ as world heritage.
UNESCO recognized the Bengali’s traditional Mangol Shovajatra on Pahela Boishakh (Bengali new year) as a world heritage on November 30, 2016.
To celebrate the achievement, the ministry for cultural affairs will bring out a colourful procession at 3 pm today.
A discussion meeting and cultural function will also be held on the occasion, said a press release.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will lead the procession from Shilpakala Academy to Fine Arts Institute at Dhaka University (DU).
