Govt to bring specially-abled people under central database: Palak

State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Sunday said the present government is going to bring the specially-abled people of the country under a central database.
“Government has made much progress in facilitate Digital Bangladesh, a vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It has passed an act to ensure rights and protection of specially-abled people in 2013. We will always be by the side of those, who are fighting to defeat their disability through hard work,” he said.
The state minister said these while inaugurating a special computer course for specially-abled people through video conferencing at six regional centers Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Chattogram and Faridpur from secretariat here in the capital.
“The present government is implementing different projects to make the specially-abled people self-employed and self-reliant by providing them training. We will adopt different activities to ensure appropriate jobs for them as per their abilities,” Palak added.
Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) is organising the course under Neuro Developmental Disorder Project, which will go on till 2020. A total of 20 people will take 20-day training in each batch.
BCC member Md Rezaul Karim, Director (training and development) Enamul Kabir, Project Director Mohammad Monwar Uj Jaman and Deputy Project Director Md Golam Rabbani were present, among others, on the occasion.
