BNP senior leader Hannan Shah on Tuesday said they will oust the current government through a democratic movement braving all sorts of repressive acts and police firings.
“We’ll ensure the fall of this regime through a democratic way. People know it very well how to unseat a
regime. When they’ll take to the streets, nobody will be able to resist them by firing gunshots and sending them to jail. Ershad couldn’t do that and this regime won’ t be able either,” he said.
Hannan Shah, a BNP standing committee member, came up with the remarks while addressing a discussion titled, ‘Hushing up Various Killing Incidents, Including Narayanganj and Kalshi Ones Citizen Safety’ organised by Democratic Movement at the Jatiya Press Club.
The BNP leader warned that they will follow the path showed by Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam if the government blocks their democratic and non-violent movement.
“Syed Ashraf had said the present government cannot be ousted in a legal way. His comment has proved that the government doesn’t want to arrange a fresh election. But, BNP will do whatever necessary to overthrow this regime,” he added.
