The Bengali name of the Department of Shipping has been changed to ‘Nou Paribahan Odhidoptor’ from ‘Samudra Paribahan Odhidoptor.’
Decision to rename Department of Shipping was taken at a secretary level committee meeting on Administrative Development at the secretariat on April 28, said an official release here on Thursday.
A notification was issued by the ministry in this regard.
The notification further said that name of ‘Mercantile Marine Department has been changed to ‘Mercantile Marine Office.’
