The government is continuing its relief distribution program across the country as part of its humanitarian assistance to reduce people’s sufferings amid the corona virus pandemic.
The government has so far provided relief to 6 crore 98 lakh 97 thousand 650 people of about 1 crore 59 lakh 30 thousand 767 families across the country, said a press release.
According to the information received from the district administrations of 64 districts, around 2,11,017 metric tons of rice have been allocated as relief, while 1,84,122 metric tons have been distributed as of June 24.
The government has allocated Taka 123 crore in cash as relief for distribution.
Of the total amount, Taka 95,83,72,264 has been allocated as cash assistance and Taka 86.45 crore has already been distributed.
Moreover, Taka 27.14 crore was allocated for baby food aid while about Taka 24 crore 21 lakh 19 thousand six hundred six taka has already been distributed among about 16 lakh 18 thousand 421 people of about 7 lakh 77 thousand 525 families across the country.
