Govt reconstitutes Press Appellate Board

The government has reconstituted the Press Appellate Board as a member post of the board fell vacant due to the death of it’s a member and the Daily Shamokal Editor Golam Sarwar.
Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Mohammad Momtaj Uddin Ahmed is the ex-officio chairman of the board, said an official press release here on Sunday.
The rest two members of the board are joint secretary or additional secretary (press) of Ministry of Information and Bangladesh Press Council member and Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) former president Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul, the release added.
Press Appellate Board disposes of appeals filed against any decision of a concerned district magistrate on giving declaration of a newspaper as per the Printing Presses and Publications (Declaration and Registration) Act, 1973.
