The government is providing all treatment cost for the burn-injured workers at the fire incident in a lighter factory on the outskirt of city’s Ashulia, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Malek said.
“We are taking all-out steps for providing treatment to the burn victims. The government is also looking into the fire incident,” he told newsmen while visiting fire victims at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute here on Thursday.
During his visit, the state minister spent few moments beside the burn victims and queried about their treatment.
One female worker died and at least 31 suffered injuries in the fire at Colour Match BD Ltd adjacent to Jirabo Bus Stand under Ashulia Police Station on November 22.
A total of 21 injured women were rushed to the Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute of DMCH. Seven of them are stated to be critical.
