The BNP on Thursday alleged that the government had released the top listed criminal Joseph but delayed to release the most popular leader Khaleda Zia from jail.
“Top listed criminal Joseph not only got release from jail but also got scope to go abroad for treatment due to his involvement with Chhatra League,” said BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan while talking to journalists after attending a programme in the capital yesterday.
He was distributing clothes among poor people at Karwan Bazar to mark 37th death anniversary of President Ziaur Rahman.
Nazrul Islam Khan said, whereas there is dilly-dally on hearing on the bail of the country’s most popular leader Khaleda Zia to keep her in jail as long as they can do.
The BNP leader said, “The government is using the judiciary as a weapon for fulfilling its desires.
It is being done so that she (Khaleda) becomes so sick which will make her unable to contest in the election.”
