BSS, Dhaka :
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said the government has taken a plan to preserve the real memories of the country’s Liberation War.
“If the history of the Liberation War could be presented before the new generation by preserving its real history and indiscriminate memories to be found across the country, the history of the great war will be erased one day,” he said.
The Liberation War Affairs Minister said this on Thursday while addressing a view-exchange meeting with local freedom fighters at Naogaon Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium.
Speaking as the chief guest, he said the anti-liberation forces will win and the country’s independence will fall flat if the true history of the 1971 war is erased.
So, Mozammel said, the government has planned to preserve the real history of the Liberation War as well as genocide and build same designed monuments on the killing grounds.
Mentioning that the present government has given the highest honour to the freedom fighters, he said it has also planned to increase their allowances and the plan will be implemented soon. Earlier, the minister inaugurated the newly built Naogaon Sadar Upazila Freedom Fighters Complex.
Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Md Shahiduzzman Sarkar and lawmaker Mohd Salim Uddin Tarafder, among others, spoke at the meeting with Naogan Deputy Commissioner and Convener of Naogaon Zila Muktijoddha Sangsad Md Harun-Or-Rashid in the chair.
