State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said the government has a plan to buy helicopter alongside rescue ships for Chattogram Port, said a press release.
“There are plans to buy not only rescue ships, but also Helicopter for Chattogram Port, side by side we would like to uplift the position of Chittagong port to 30-50th place in the world,” the state minister said this on Wednesday while addressing a inaugural ceremony of a newly constructed building of Chattogram Port Hospital and Corona Ward in Chattogram.
The state minister said, the probe-body formed by the Shipping Ministry will submit their report on the incident of launch capsize in the Buriganga river in the stipulated time frame. According to the investigation report, those who are responsible for the accident would be brought to book, he added.
