BNP Standing Committee Member Barrister Moudud Ahmed on Friday said that the government has been panicked as the UN invited leaders to present current situations of Bangladesh.
“Our party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is in New York City at the invitation of United Nations Secretary General to present Bangladesh’s real scenario, and not to lodge any complaint. But the government has become panicked over the matter,” Moudud Ahmed said while addressing a discussion at the National Press Club organised by the Bangladesh Youth Forum, a pro-BNP platform.
The BNP leader rejected the ruling party leaders’ allegations that Mirza Fakhrul went to the UN to lodge complaints against the AL government.
Moudud Ahmed said, the BNP Secretary General did not go to the UN on his own. He is there to depict the country’s real scenario, not to make complaints.”
He claimed that there is no atmosphere for credible polls in Bangladesh.
“The government is planning to hold another unilateral election to cling to power, but will be unsuccessful,” he stressed.
The BNP leader warned that BNP together with the people of the country will give the government a befitting reply on the streets by creating a national unity.
Meanwhile, BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on the same day said, the government is creating pressure on the court to give verdict without procedure.
He claimed it while addressing a press briefing in the party’s Nayapaltan office.
