BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakrul Islam Alamgir on Friday alleged that the government is trying to save the RAB officials allegedly involved in the killing of seven people after their abduction in Narayanganj.
“Why aren’t the accused RAB officials being arrested? Why is the government buying time? The government wants to save them as they (RAB men) are being used politically to suppress the opposition,” he said.
Fakhrul was addressing as the chief guest in a rally at the Jatiya Press Club.

organised the rally protesting the shifting of the trial of the graft cases’ of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and its senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman to a makeshift court.
The BNP spokesman said the government is not arresting the accused RAB officials even after the High Court’s order as one of the accused is son-in-law of a minister.
Fakhrul alleged that Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman are being illegally tried to keep them away from the politics as the duo do politics for people.
On May 7, the trial of Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman in Zia Charitable and Orphanage Trust and graft cases pending with the Special Judge Court-3 has been shifted to a makeshift court on the premises of Bakshibazar Alia Madrasah from Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judges court building.
