BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday accused the government of trying to label the party as an militant organisation.
“The government is trying to include the name of Dhaka City BNP Joint- Convener MA Qaiyum in the charge sheet of Italian national Tavella Scisare murder case,” said the BNP leader at a press briefing in the party’s Naya Paltan office.
Rizvi alleged that the government was hatching
conspiracy to destroy BNP. The implicating of BNP leaders in cases after cases is part thereof.
He said that the ISIS claimed the responsibility in their own magazine Dabik of killing Italian national Tavella Scisare in the city’s Gulshan on September 28 last year. Just after five days of the murder, the ISIS confessed to have killed Japanese national Kunio Hoshi at Rangpur.
“The police contrarily said on different occasions that the homegrown militants JMB were involved in those killing. But when the police failed to identify the real culprits, then the government planned to link BNP to hide their failure,” he said.
Rizvi said, the ministers’ statement during the investigation created serious reaction countrywide. To calm the situation, the Home Minister changed his tone and said the BNP leader MA Qaiyum was on their suspect list only. “We are now anxious about the future of MA Qaiyum, as conspiracy continues,” concluded the BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General, demanding justice.
BNP Joint-Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, central leader Ruhul Quddus Talukdar Dulu and Abdus Salam Azad, among others, were present on the briefing.
