BNP senior leader Nazrul Islam Khan on Monday alleged that the government has made their promising young leaders a target to destroy the party’s future leadership.
“The leaders who have the capability to lead BNP in the coming days are being made a target and implicated in false cases. They’re being harmed in various ways and made
disappeared,” he said. Speaking at a discussion, he further said, “A good number of our leaders and activists were killed, made disappeared, maimed and seriously injured. Their family members are shedding tears every day. But, all believe that trial of these injustice, misdeeds and repression will surely be held one day.” Dhaka south city unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal arranged the programme at the Jatiya Press Club, marking the first death anniversary of its former president and BNP’s then assistant organising secretary Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu. Pintu, also an ex-BNP MP died on May 3 at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital last year at the age of 48.
