Govt. officials urged to work sincerely to achieve SDGs

Rangpur divisional commissioner Mohammad Joynul Bari urged the district level government officials to work with sincerity to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs). “Apart from that, we have to be more serious and cordial to implement the vision declared by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through turning Bangladesh into a middle income country by 2021 and developed one by 2041”, he said. He came up with the comments while exchanging views with the district level government officials at the conference room of the District Collectorate Building here on Sunday afternoon as the Chief Guest.
With Deputy Commissioner Gautam Chandra Pal in the chair, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by deputy director of Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) AKM Ruhul Amin, district livestock officer Dr. Abdul Latif, acting civil surgeon Dr. ABM Abu Hanif, executive engineer of BWDB Mahbubur Rahman, deputy director of family planning department Deowan Morshed Kamal, district education officer Anayet Hossain, president of Gaibandha Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shajada Anwarul Quadir and BSS district correspondent Sarker M. Shahiduzzaman.
DC Gautam Chandra Pal in his concluding speeches urged the officials to attain the cherished goals including SDGs of the government and thanked divisional commissioner for exchanging views with them. Chief executive officer of Zila Parishad Delwar Hossain, deputy director of local government section of DC office Rokhsana Begum, additional deputy commissioner (General) Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner (Revenue) ABM Sadiqur Rahman, all UNOs and other officials of the Collectorate Building were present on the occasion.
BSS from Rangpur adds: Government officials and business community leaders at a post-rally discussion here on Tuesday stressed the need for producing skilled human resources to enhance productivity for attaining the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
They came up with the opinion at the discussion organised in observance of the National Productivity Day- 2018 with the theme of “Productivity Development for Happy and Prosperous Country” here as elsewhere in the country.
The district administration with Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organised a colourful rally followed by discussion held at conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on the occasion.
