BSS, Dhaka :
The government is not trying to split BNP, said family and welfare minister Mohammad Nasim. “Why the government will split BNP . . . you (Khaleda Zia) claims that BNP is a popular party and if it is really popular, why would your party be broken up?,” the Awami League Presidium member said this on Monday while taking to journalists after a surprise visit to BSMMU here.
Replying to a question about the change in cabinet, Nasim said it is the sole jurisdiction of the Prime Minister.
The health minister reached Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University at 2.30pm and inquired about whether the patients were given treatment properly after the Eid vacation. Though BSMMU enjoyed Eid holiday , the attendance of doctors and nurses was satisfactory.
During the visit, the health minister went round different wards and talked to relatives of patients.
BSMMU VC Prof Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan, DG of the Directorate of Health Service Prof Deen Mohammad Nurul Haq and health and population affairs secretary of Dhaka City Awami League Dr Deelip Roy were present during the visit of the health minister.
Earlier, he also visited BIRDEM Hospital. When going round different wards, Nasim went to the ICU to inquire about the treatment of Dhaka City Awami League’s information and research secretary Azizur Rahman who is undergoing treatment there.
