BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday claimed that the government is making fun with people over the soaring prices of essentials.
He said it in a discussion meeting at Jatiya Press Club arranged by National People’s Party (NPP) demanding the release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “The government could not check rising of essential prices, including that of onion, salt and rice.”
“Our Food Minister said, there’s a huge pressure on the rice market, as people now used to eat fine rice. Such remark is nothing, but a mockery,” he said.
Fakhrul said, “The ruling party leaders consider themselves as the masters of the country’s people out of their vanity of power.”
“Ministers are exposing their lordship attitude by issuing threats to give a fitting reply if BNP holds any political programme,” he said.
BNP Secretary General also said, “The ministers of Awami League have been
saying for a few days that they won’t accept (BNP’s) programmes and give a befitting reply. You’ve been doing politics for a long time resorting to such threats. They can’t tolerate anyone. They hold a lordship mentality.”
Fakhrul said their party and alliances never believe in terrorism, as they respect liberal democracy. We want to do politics in political way and also want to change the government with the same way.
