Some land sharks have grabbed four decimals of government property in the South-West corner of Mahasthan Garh Governemnt Hat recently.
The land grabbers also started to build five- storied building there without any legal permission of the appropriate authority.
Several businesses are claiming that the local administration is not taking any legal action for unknown reason. They gave a written complaint to the deputy commissioner to stop the illegal construction on the government land on April 01 but the district administration has not taken any action till now. The land grabbers are continuing construction work.
According to the complaint, some land grabbers led by Sahadat Hossain, son of Sakawat Baridar of village Mahasthan has broken a public toilet that was built by government on the 2003-2004 fiscal year.
Md. Abdul Jalil, Saiful Islam Inna among others businessmen also alleged , many businessmen have been facing problems due to collapse of the public toilets which was built by government funding.
Md. Abu Bakkar Siddique, a businessman of the hat said , some local businessmen have established a merchant association.
Local Rainagour Union Parishad Chairman Md Firoz Ahmmed Rizu was made president and Sahadat Hossain was made General Secretary of the merchant association. The building will be built for using as an office of the merchant association, said Abu Bakkar. Local contractor Md. Jahedur Rahman, businessman Sahadat Hossain, loan brokers Belal Hossain among others dependable persons are financing the construction of the building.
Md. Shafiqur Reza Biswash, Deputy Commissioner of Bogra said we have received a complaint on April 01 by some local businessmen and have been ordered to the Shibganj Upazila Nirbai Officer to take the necessary measures.
