Govt keen to create investment-friendly atmosphere : NBR Chairman

National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Mohammad Nazibur Rahman on Friday said the Government is working relentlessly to create business and investment friendly atmosphere in the country.
The NBR chairman was addressing a view-exchange meeting with the businessmen of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) at the conference room of World Trade Center in the city.
 He said the government has given the highest priority and proper importance to the interest of local industries for achieving desired growth.
The NBR Chairman also ordered to the concern authority to set up a scanning machine at Chittagong port for increasing the service to the businessmen. Nazibur Rahman called upon the businessmen to pay taxes properly for mobilizing internal resources and increasing the share of internal resources to the Annual Development Programme (ADP).
“There is no alternative to internal resources mobilization if we want to lessen foreign loan and aid and implement the development schemes.
The business community and CCCI could play vital roles in mobilizing internal resources through paying taxes properly”, the NBR chairman added.
Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) organized the meeting in its conference room with its President Mahbubul Alam in the chair.
Mohammad Shahidul Alam, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Malaysia, CCCI directors Mafuzul Hoq Shah, A K M Akter Hossain, Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury, Mohammad Ohaid Siraj Swpan, Sarwar Hasan Jamil and Anjon Shekor Das, trade body leaders, shop owners and high officials were present, among others.
