Staff Reporter :
The government has been completely unable to control dengue and help flood victims and as such they are trying to conceal their failures, saying what the media and a group of political leaders say about the dengue and the flood is not fully true, rather rumor, says BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Tuesday.
He said this while addressing a protest rally held in the Freedom Hall of Dhaka Reporters Unity on Tuesday afternoon.
Questioning the government, he said, “Which is the definition of rumor? Is dengue’s taking epidemic form or raping of women constantly, or torture of children, or what has been looted from the stock market in two weeks?”
Amir Khasru said, “There is no way for the government to dismiss everything as a rumor. They have completely failed to control everything.
“The reason for failure is that it is not possible to govern the country with those who have little knowledge about administration. People get no benefits from them even though people own the country,” he said.
“Wherever we have gone to distribute relief in North Bengal, the state of mind of the people has clearly been exposed. Everyone wants the release of Khaleda Zia. But she could not go there, as she is in the prison in false charge.”
During this time, he demanded the government to rehabilitate the Flood affected people.
