Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said that the present government has increased various facilities for the teachers including their salaries.
“Education is the backbone of a nation. So, we don’t pull any party in the education system and the present government has increased various facilities for the teachers to raise quality education,” said the minister.
He said this on Sunday while addressing a teachers’ rally as chief guest on the Bangla School Ground in Bhola. District unit of Awami League organized the rally.
Tofail said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has so far nationalized some 27,000 primary schools.
“She (PM) has been working relentlessly to raise quality education and no other government except the present one could make such level of development in the education sector,” he said.
Tofail alleged that during the BNP-Jamaat misrule, various ill attempts were made to destroy the Fatema Khanam College named after her mother at Bangla Bazar in Bhola sadar.
“But, during the tenure of the present government, overall assistance including allocation of fund is being extended to those educational institutions set up by BNP. Because, the Awami League doesn’t believe in partisan way in the education system,”
