Environment and Forest Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud said the government is implementing clean air and sustainable environment (CASE) project to check air pollution of the country including Dhaka and Chittagong.
“Various activities including development of infrastructure, research, air pollution monitoring and air pollution control have taken under the project,” the minister said this on the ninth instant while responding to a question placed by treasury bench lawmaker M Mamunur Rashid Kiron of Noakhali-3 at the Jatiya Sangsad here.
Under the project, a total of 11 Continuous Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAMS) have been installed for regular monitoring of the air pollution quality at eight populous city including Dhaka and Chittagong, said the minister.
In addition to this, initiative is underway to install CAMS at more five important cities under the project, he added.
