Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim on Wednesday directed all the government hospitals, including community clinics, across the country to provide healthcare services to the people at free of cost on August 15, marking the National Mourning Day. The minister gave the directive while speaking at the preparatory meeting at the ministry office in the city marking the National Mourning Day, said an official release.
As per the minister’s directive, the hospitals will provide medical services and examine diagnosis tests at free of cost from 9 am to 12 noon at the outdoor of their respective health centres on August 15 while emergency and indoor services will remain open for 24 hours on the day. Health Services Division Secretary Md Sirajul Haque Khan, Medical Education and Family Welfare Division Secretary GM Saleh Uddin and Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad and other officials concerned were present at the meeting, among others.
