A 15-member National Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Doing Business Reforms (NCMID) has been formed to improve the country’s overall business environment.
Cabinet secretary is the chair of the committee and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) will act as its secretariat. A gazette was published on September 21 in this regard, said a BIDA media release.
BIDA has been implementing different reform programmes to secure 99th place in ‘ease of doing business’ index of the World Bank. Bangladesh now ranks 176th out of 190 countries.
