The government has determined 14 sectors for the Annual Development Programme (ADP) in the next national budget, adjusting the existing sectors fixed by the ministries for planning and finance.
The sectors were determined at a meeting at Sher-e-Banglanagar NEC conference room in the city on Thursday, said an official release.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan and secretaries of different ministries attended the meeting.
Currently, there are 17 sectors in ADP, which are fixed by the Planning Commission. On the other hand, there are 13 development sectors under the finance ministry.
In the meeting, General Economic Division (GED) of the Planning Commission presented a review report titled ‘Regularization of Sectors in Development Planning and Budgeting.’
The meeting held detailed discussion on the development sectors and decided to fix 14 sectors under ADP of the new national budget.
The development sectors are: general public services, defence, public order and safety, industrial and economic services, agriculture, power and energy, transport and communication, local government and rural development, preservation of environment, housing, health, recreation, culture and religion, education and technology and social safety.
