Govt firm to root out militancy across the country : BGB DG

Border Guard Bangladesh [BGB] Director General, Major General Aziz Ahamed said, the government is determined to root out the militants across the country.
The BGB chief was addressing the inauguration ceremony of 61 border guard battalion as Chief Guest at Rangpur Sector headquarter on Tuesday noon.
 He said, strict vigilance and alertness was enforced in 600 kilometers border area across the country. BSF and BGB were exchanging information and maintaining security strictly so that militants could not intrude.
The BGB chief also said, massive steps have been taken and being implemented under the reconstruction program of BGB with a view to improving the operational power of the force.
Four regions, four sectors, one ICT battalion, one security bureau, four regional intelligence bureau and fourteen battalions of the force have been furnished, he said. He inaugurated the 61 battalions formally hoisting its flag.
