Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said the government is determined to implement jute policy aimed at regaining the glory of Golden Fiber.
“The grand alliance government has taken some initiatives to regain the glory of jute sector,” he said this on Thursday while speaking as the chief guest at a roundtable at Jatiya Press Club.
Jute Mills Employees-Workers Sangram Parisad organized the roundtable on “Jute National, Resources and Crisis of Jute Industry and Way of Development” with its convener M Shahidullah in the chair.
Moderated by Professor of Economics Department of Dhaka University MM Akash, the discussion was also addressed, among others, by president of Communist Party of Bangladesh Muzahidul Islam Selim, Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal leader Razikuzzaman Ratan, Sramik Okkiya Parisad general secretary Wazedul Islam and chairman of Bangladesh Consumers Association Golamur Rahman.
