Govt firm to ensure health services for common people

Foreign Minister AHM Mahmud Ali said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to ensuring health services to the common people and accordingly has taken massive steps towards the direction.
“The common people are getting health services easily at their doorsteps following the time-befitting and effective steps taken by the government, including re-launching of the community clinics in every ward of all unions in the country,” he said. He said digitization and information communication technology (ICT) have paved the way for the rural people in getting necessary suggestions and treatments instantly from physicians through telemedicine at the community clinics and union information service centres (UISC).
He said this on Thursday while addressing as the chief guest the inaugural ceremony of a daylong free medical camp organised by RMM Group at Pakerhat Degree College ground under Khansama upazila in Dinajpur to provide free treatment with medicines to the poor and the distressed as the chief guest.
Acting Principal of the college Pramoth Chandra Roy presided over the function, participated by leaders of Awami League (AL) and its front organisations, officials, public representatives, teachers, students, civil society members and local elite. Shahin Ali, wife of the Foreign Minister, Khansama Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahinur Alam, senior AL leader ZH Mohammad Ali Shamim, upazila AL President Shah Md Abdul Jabbar, its General Secretary Shafiul Azam Chowdhury Lion, its Vice-president Saiful Islam and representative of RMM Group Shah Md Shamsul Akhter addressed as the special guests.
