Unb, Dhaka :Expressing her profound shock over the death of 25 people in a road crash in Faridpur, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday said the government has failed to take effective measures to check growing accidents on roads and waterways.In a condolence message, Khaleda said, “Though frequent road crashes are taking place claiming the lives of many people, the government has completely failed to take effective steps ascertaining the causes behind the accidents.”The BNP chief alleged that the government is constantly ignoring the issue of public security as it has no sense of responsibility to people.Khaleda prayed for salvation of the departed souls and conveyed her deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.She also wished early recovery of those injured in the accident.Twenty-five people, including five women, were killed and 21 others injured as a bus crashed into roadside trees on Faridpur-Barisal highway at Koidubi in Bhanga upazila early Thursday.
