The government has extended its ongoing suspension of all modes of public transportation until April 11 as part of its efforts to contain the coronavirus spread.
The decision came from the Road Transport and Highways Division (RTHD) today (Saturday), days after public holidays were extended until the same day.
Emergency services, fuel, medicine, vehicles carrying perishable goods and relief materials will be in operation as usual, according to a notice of the RTHD issued over the extension in suspension of public transport services.
It also clarified that no goods-laden vehicles will be allowed to carry passengers aboard. In a notice on Wednesday last, the government extended its March 26-April 04 public holiday, which started along with suspension of all public transportations, by seven more days until April 11.
