Govt employees placed 5-point demands in Barishal

A group of government service employees under the banner of ‘Bangladesh Government Employees Coordination Council held agitation rally in front deputy commissioner’s office at Barishal City on Sunday noon.
The programme was presided over by Manik Mridha, district president and central vice president of the organisation.
Among others , Mridha Md. Nasiruddin, Abdul Gaffar, Farid Ahamed, Alamgir Hossain, Alamgir Molla, local and central leaders of the organisation addressed the programme.
After the agitation rally they handed over a memorandum to additional deputy commissioner (education and ICT) Proshanta Kumar Das to place their demands before the prime minister.
Manik Mridha, District President of the organisation, said we placed five points’ demands for welfare and improvement of service status, salaries and benefits.
First of the five-point demands included: end of administrative and financial discriminations between the government employees posted at secretariat in Dhaka and out of secretariat in other parts of the country.
The other demands were regularisation of the manpower employed under outsourcing system at the government offices, increase of age limit in recruitment at government services up to 35 years and retirement after 65 years, restoration of time scale selection grade, hundred percent pension, increase of gratuity rate to five hundred percents, standardization of rationing in fare price adjusting to the current price level and sanctioning tourism, disaster and mountain-area allowances.
We want end of discrimination in salary, status and benefits between the government employees posted at secretariat and outside of secretariat, said Mridha Nasiruddin, secretary of the organisition.
