Speakers at a discussion lauded the comprehensive steps taken by the government for ensuring inclusive development of the physically-challenged people.
Rangpur Badhir Sangha (RBS) with district administration and Department of
Social Services (DSS) organised the discussion recently at Sumi Community Centre in Rangpur in observance of the Bangla Sign Language Day-2019.Earlier, a rally, participated by physically challenged, hearing impaired and intellectually disabled people, students, guardians, teachers, officials of different organisations and civil society members, was brought out on the city streets.
Divisional Director of the DSS Anil Chandra Barman addressed the discussion followed by and distribution of blankets among the poor and distressed people with disabilities as the chief guest.
With RBS President Shariful Karim Sharfu in the chair, Deputy Director of the DSS Md Abdul Matin attended the discussion as special guest. Senior Vice-president of RBS Sabina Afza Haque Lisu, its Vice-presidents Abul Kalam Azad Mithu and Iftekhar Ahmed, General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Mizan and Joint General Secretary Manjil Murad Lavlu also spoke on the occasion.
