The Government has earned Tk 5.33 cr by leasing out a pond at Tapirbari Mouza in Gazipur district and every year the government will get Tk 15000 as ‘khajna’ but previously only Tk. 4000 was earned yearly for cultivation of fish. The pond has been given lease to increase the revenue , sources said.
As the pond has been filled up , its land classification has been changed and Gazipur District Administration has find no existence of the pond for long twenty years through their investigation and it was given lease by the Ministry of Land flowing the existing rules and reugulations of the government on January last. Locals said, there was no existance of the pond in the area.
