Staff Reporter :
The government is pushing the country to the path of Sri Lanka as it is mired with multiple crises including the depletion of the reserves and intensified the people’s sufferings through whimsical decisions.
“We don’t want the country to be like Sri Lanka. When the price of oil in the world market is declining, the government abruptly increased the fuel prices which has created a chain effect in daily essentials, communications and other fields,” Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman GM Quader said in the protest rally organised in front of the party office in Kakrail on Monday.
Jatiyo Party affiliates and leaders of various units participated in the rally organized to protest against the increase in the price of fuel and daily commodities.
In the speech as the chief guest, GM Quader said that the reserve money had disappeared due to corruption and money laundering. People should answer all questions. At this time, he threw questions to the government and said, where did the reserve money go? That question must be answered.
GM Quader also alleged that the government is planning to destroy politics. Referring to the dire times ahead, he further said that everyone should be united and stay in the field.
Jatiya Party secretary general Mujibul Haque Chunnu said that his party won’t be the stair to grip power by the Awami League.
He said Jatiyo Party will submit nomination in 300 constituencies in next parliamentary election.
