Durga Puja ended peacefully in Port City: Govt creates friendly environment for celebration of festivals: Nowfel

 The 5- days long Durga Puja, a major religious festival of the sanatan hindu community of the country ended yesterday through immersion of goddess Durja. The patenga beach became sea of devouts of Hindu community as well as other community members to observe the immersion of Durga at Patenga Beach.
The whole areas of Patenga Beach became full of man and women from 12 noon yesterday. The mandaps of the city areas brought in the sea beach carrying with trucks accompanied by musical bands for immersion.
Stringent security have been deployed in the area. Additional law enforcing agencies members have been deployed in the beach areas to avoid any nuisances. In last night (Sunday), leaders of the rulling parties visited the different Puja Mandaps to convey autuman message of the Prime Minister to the Hindu devouts.
Meanwhile Deputy Minister for Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel conveyed the autumn greetings of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to various puja mandaps in the port city on Sunday night. While visiting the puja mandap of Chattogram Metropolitan Puja Celebration Parishad at JM Sen Hall in the city, the Minister for Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel said, “I have come to convey the autumn greetings of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the devouts.
The Prime Minister has instructed all, including the law enforcement agencies, to ensure that the traditional community can observe the Durgotsab in the autumn in a safe and religious manner.He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s govt has been able to create a tolerant environment for the celebration of festivals in the country with due dignity and freedom for all religions. This is the biggest achievement of Bangladesh.
At our festivals we all celebrate together. We have learned to walk with a secular consciousness.Addressing the Hindu community he said, “When you worship, pray for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to remain healthy. As long as she is healthy, communal harmony will prevail in Bangladesh undoubtedly.
The Dy Minister for Education requested the visitors to visit the puja mandapa following the social distance and hygiene rules.Advocate Chandan Kumar Talukder, President of Chattogram City Worship Celebration Council, former General Secretary Rana Biswas, Sumon Debnath, Joint-General Secretary Mithun Mallick, Board of Directors members Rumki Sen and Sukant Mahajan Tutul were present on the occasion.
