President and the Secretary General of Hajj Pilgrimage Welfare Council, Chittagong Ahmedul Islam Chowdhury and Principal Dr. Abdul Karim respectively in a joint statement demanded intervention of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina over the registration process of hajj pilgrimage registration for current session of 2016.
The statement was told that an deal was signed between the Saudi govt and Bangladesh at Jeddah recently centring the hajj registration.
In the recently signed agreement , 1 lakh one thousand eight hundred fifty eight hajj pilgrims will be allowed to perform hajj in the coming session which is equavalent to last year.
Though the numbers of hajj pilgrimage not increased by Saudi govt , concerned authority should be alert to avoid any unfairmeans in registering the hajj pilgrims like previous year, the statement added.
They said bonafide Hajj pilgrims should be enlisted avoiding the fake pilgrims like earlier. HPWC strongly demanded punishment for any sorts of unfairmeans in the process of Hajj registration, sources said.
