BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that Begum Khaleda Zia is seriously ill. She has not been given any kind of treatment. Contrarily the government is conspiring to take her back to the prison, saying she is healthy.
He made the allegation at a press conference in the party’s central office in
Nayapaltan on Sunday.
At this time, he announced a two-day program demanding Khaleda Zia release.
Fakhrul said, BNP will hold humanitarian program in the capital on September 11 and across the country on September 12.
“I want to say that Begum Zia has been suffering from a complicated disease for a long time. We are demanding her release immediately. I demand her treatment the hospital of her choice. Otherwise, this government will have to take responsibility for any degradation of her body.” He said.
BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Dr Abdul Moin Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Vice-Chairman Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, BNP leader Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu, Abul Kalam Azad, Abdus Salam Azad, and Aminul Islam were present on the occasion at the press conference.
