The BNP on Wednesday accused the government of hatching conspiracy to kill the party’s jailed Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
“We are anxious to know whether Khaleda Zia is being made victim of slow poisoning inside the jail? She is seriously sick now. She is now using wheel chairs to move from one place to another. But she went to the jail in sound,” said, BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a Doa Mahfil at the party’s Nayapaltan office on the occasion of holy Miraj.
“In these circumstances, the people are anxious about treatment Khaleda Zia is receiving and the government’s activities?” he said.
Rizvi was criticizing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University physicians. He said that BNP chief was admitted to the hospital with serious complaints. But the Director of the hospital said, Khaleda Zia’s illness is not so serious as complained. He said it without checking Khaleda Zia’s health conditions. He said it only to make Prime Minister Happy,” Rizvi said. Among others, BNP chairperson’s Adviser Abdus Salam, Assistant Organizing Secretary Abdus Salam Azad, General Secretary of the Olama Dal, Hafez Nesarul Haque, Member of Krishak Dal Krishibid Hasan Zafir Tuhin, among others, were present.
