Housing and Public Works Minister S M Rezaul Karim said the present government is firmly committed to the spirit of communal harmony under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Imbued with the spirit of communal harmony, the present government is working relentlessly for the development of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. That is why, people of all religions are performing their respective rituals peacefully with equal right,” he said. He said this on Friday while addressing the biennial council of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad as the chief guest in the auditorium of Zilla Shilpakala Academy of Pirojpur district. Lawmaker Sheikh Anne Rahman also addressed the event.
Rezaul urged the people not to do anything that might stand as a stumbling block against maintaining the communal harmony in the country.
Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad President Milon Kanti Dutta inaugurated the council with District Puja Udjapan Parishad Committee President Bimal Mondal in the chair.
Many leaders of Puja Udjapan Parishad Committee at central, Zilla and Upazila levels were present, among others, on the occasion.
