Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif said the present government is changing the fortune of country’s farmers.
With this in view, he said, the government is continuing subsidy for the welfare of the farmers.
The minister said this on Thursday while distributing seeds and fertilizers among small and marginal farmers on Lokkhikunda Union Parishad premises in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna district as the chief guest.
A total of 1,410 farmers of Lokkhikunda, Pakshi and Shara unions of the upazila received seeds and fertilizers under the farmer incentive programme.
Lokkhikunda Union Parishad Chairman Anisur Rahman presided over the function.
Deputy director of DAE Bibhutibhushan Sarker, Ishwardi Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shakil Ahamed, Upazila Parishad Chairman Makhlesur Rahman Mintu, DAE officer A. A. Masum Billah and joint secretary of Pabna Zila Awami League Basir Ahamed Bakul were present in the function, among others.
