Govt. brings revolutionary success in agriculture sector

The present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has brought revolutionary success in agriculture sector through working relentlessly to ensure welfare of the farmers and increase food production.
Speakers said this today at the inaugural ceremony of the construction works of the Farmers Training Centre (Second Phase) at Chilmari upazila town in Kurigram for providing training and disseminating latest agriculture technologies among farmers.
The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has been implementing construction works of the four-story Farmers Training Centre at a cost of Taka 48 lakh in the disaster-prone remote upazila town on the Brahmaputra basin to promote agriculture.
Chilmari Upazila Chairman and valiant freedom fighter Shawkat Ali Sarker, Bir Bikram, formally inaugurated the construction works through unveiling the foundation stone as the chief guest while Deputy Director of Kurigram DAE Pratip Kumar Mandal in the chair.
The function participated by a large number of people including officials, political leaders, professionals, civil society members, journalists, farmers and local elite.
Chilmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ahsan Habib, Upazila Vice-chairmen Zamshidul Islam Monu, Marjina Begum and Upazila Agriculture Officer Nazrul Islam attended as the special guests.
The chief guest said the government has taken comprehensive steps for achieving self-sufficiency in food production through providing technologies, assistances, incentives and subsidies to the farmers to increase production of all crops.
The present pro-people government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been taking more effective and time- befitting steps for further increasing food production, development of the farmers and the agriculture sector as a whole, he said.
He hoped that farmers of the socioeconomically backward Chilmari upazila would highly be benefited through getting training on the latest technologies and applying those in increasing crop production after completion constriction works of the training centre.
