Govt always stands by helpless people: Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak has said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to alleviate the miseries of helpless people as she has always stood by them in their weal and woe.
He said this while distributing relief to the flood-hit people of Shingra Municipality, said a press release.
Relief goods and baby food were distributed among one thousand families at Gainpara, Par Shingra and Chalanbil Women’s Degree College flood shelters in the municipality with the help of China Railway Group Company.
“As the flood waters have started receding various departments of the government, including agriculture, fisheries and disaster management, are working to assess the damage caused by the floods. The flood victims, sheltered in shelters, receiving humanitarian assistance from the Prime Minister, will also be rehabilitated by the government,” Palak said.
Recalling the struggle and self-sacrifice of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for the independence of the country, the state minister said “Father of the Nation Bangabandhu always stood by the miserable people of the country.
Following the ideals of Bangabandhu, the present government is working for the welfare of people of different classes and professions, he continued.
The state minister also said that the government is committed to establish the ‘Sonar Bangla’ as per Bangabandhu’s dream through achieving non-discriminatory economic prosperity and establishing democracy and good governance.
He added that not just the floods, the government has been working relentlessly to tackle the Corona situation for the last five months. The present government has the capacity to deal with any disaster situation, Palak said.
Earlier, the state minister attended the annual general meeting of the Shingra Diabetic Association in the conference room of Shingra Upazila Parishad and gave necessary directions to formulate a plan for the implementation of the hospital construction project of the association at a cost of Taka 45 crore.
President of Shingra Upazila Awami League Ohidur Rahman Sheikh, Mayor of Shingra Municipality Jannatul Ferdous and Key Account Manager of China Railway International Group Company Md Abu Kawsar also spoke, at the program.
