Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mesbauddin said, the Government always eyes to the welfare of the disabled persons .
He disclosed it while addressing the function arranged in observance of World White Stick Security Day held at Shilpakala Academy on Thursday as chief guest.
He said govt is working different development programs for the welfare of the disabled and services are being rendered through Social service directorate.
He also said special arrangement for transportation of the disabled persons will be resolved through discussions with the Bus owners associations to keep reserve a few seats in every passenger bus in the city. Deputy Director of Social Services Directorate, Chittagong Ms. Bandana Das presided over the function.
Among others, civil surgeon of Chittagong Dr. Md. Azizur Rahman siddiqui, Deputy director of AnsarVDPASM Azimuddin, Member of Natiional Social Welfare Council SM Morshed Hossain, Executive Director of YPSA Jesmin Sultana Paru spoke on the occasion. Before conclusion of the function, white stick were distributed to the blind and disabled persons, sources said.
