The government has allowed all kinds of public transports to operate from tonight to till tomorrow 12pm to facilitate garments and other workers coming to Dhaka amid the ongoing ‘strict restrictions’.
BGMEA president Faruk Hasan came up with the development on Saturday evening.
He said the government has relaxed all public transport services till 12 noon on Sunday to facilitate the return of workers of export-oriented industries.
Earlier in the evening, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Chairman Commodore Golam Sadeq told media that the launch would run till 12 noon on Sunday (August 1) on all Shimulia-Banglabazar and Daulatdia-Paturia routes.
Explaining the reason, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman said, since the industrial factories are being opened from August 1. Therefore, considering the safe movement of the workers, the authorities have decided to operate launches on the waterway.
