The government has allocated 572.9 crores to provide humanitarian assistance to those who become unemployed due to the ongoing lockdown in the country for the second wave of epidemic coronavirus.
The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief issued the order on Thursday.
The financial assistance will be distributed among 1,24,41,900 families under the VGF (Vulnerable Group Feeding) program.
Among the allocations, a total of Tk 450.44cr was allotted against a total of 1000,9,494 vulnerable group feeding cards at Upazila and municipality levels.
The government gave a seven-day lockdown from April 5 as the corona transmission was on the rise. Lockdown is disrupting the livelihood of working people. The government has taken such a decision on this basis.
